I just got back from a 4 week stay in North Carolina and thanx to jet-lag I can't really sleep. Might as well do something useful then. I just collected some pointers for anyone who ends up in the area not knowing where to go.
The closest beach is Wrightsville Beach, just hit I-40 E and follow the signs. For all your shopping needs go to "The Streets @ Southpoint" (exit Southpoint from I-40), also features a movie theater and a bunch of restaurants.
my favorite places to eat in the area:
- Angus Barn - great steak and a wine list that actually shows years next to the names ;)
- Brasa - Brazilian rodizio style. Tons of meat and great starters
- Kanki - good quality sushi
- The Cheesecake Factory
- Bullocks - southern style BBQ (pork and vinegar) worth a try
