If you are in town and looking for fabulous sushi Takashi is the place to go! It is a stylish sushi bar located in the downtown area, serving a wide selection of fish and some very interesting things like monkfish liver pate which is definitely worth a try.
One of the best "fine dining" options is The New Yorker. Located just down the street from Takashi's the entrance is below street level and a seems a little unusual for a restaurant. After buying the mandatory "temporary club membership" (the New Yorker has an open bar which requires it to be a "private club" according to Utah law) you'll find an upscale dining room with excellent food and a good wine list.
Also make sure to pay a visit to the Red Iguana. Must be the best Mexican restaurant in town. There's always a crowd of people waiting outside the small restaurant, so bring some time. You'll be rewarded with very authentic food and some good tequila cocktails!
